Ronald N. Gaster, M.D., F.A.C.S., is a nationally recognized, board certified, fellowship trained corneal, cataract and refractive surgeon. He has been selected by his peers as being in the top 1% of all-laser LASIK, cataract and refractive eye surgeons in the U.S. and is included in the 2014 Best Doctors in America, an honor he has received yearly since 1996. Dr. Gaster was also included in the Orange County Medical Association’s 2014 Physicians of Excellence, 2014 Top Doctors of Orange County, and Los Angeles Magazine’s 2014 Southern California SuperDoctors. Dr. Gaster is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the University of California, Irvine, and has lectured and published extensively on current innovations in corneal and cataract microsurgery, all-laser (blade-less) LASIK, and collagen corneal cross-linking (CXL).
As a recognized leader in ophthalmology today, Dr. Gaster is committed to providing superior patient care while also pursuing significant research in LASIK laser vision correction, laser-assisted cataract surgery, refractive surgery, corneal transplant surgery, pterygium surgery, corneal cross-linking (CXL) and Intacs surgery, and other ocular diseases and conditions including dry eye syndrome. He is using the latest techniques to relieve dry eye syndrome, including Meibomian gland dysfunction, with tear osmolarity testing, lid margin debridement, Meibomian gland expression, and LipiFlow treatments. Dr. Gaster has been on the cutting edge of research into the femtosecond laser, which is now used in LASIK (all-laser LASIK), corneal transplantation and cataract surgery. His goal continues to be to enrich each patient’s quality of life through innovative methods of enhancing vision coupled with the latest and safest technological advances. He is currently seeing patients in his Beverly Hills, California (CA), and Huntington Beach, California, offices. These offices are near Los Angeles, Santa Monica, Hollywood and the San Fernando Valley for Los Angeles County, and near Irvine, Newport Beach, Costa Mesa and Anaheim for Orange County.
